MJ Hayes, a local resident, is a volunteer reader and part of the reading program facilitated by the Early Learning Coalition, in the St John’s County School District. She works at the Otis Mason Elementary School with Miss Burchfield and Mrs. Altomate. The volunteer readers are equivalent volunteers to local Pre-School classes.

MJ begins her routine with the letter L- Look, Listen, Learn. The children are inspired when MJ speaks in her ‘’puppet’ voice and moves her face painted hand to the sounds and words they are learning.Harold Underdown and Eileen Robinson will be mentoring this workshop helping writers learn about self-editing.
